Financial planning is really about peace of mind.

I am Ruth Abestilla, a financial advisor with Sun Life Philippines. I came into this profession with one simple purpose: to help people protect the ones they love and the dreams they are quietly working toward.

As a mother, I have seen how quickly life can change. That is what made me realise financial planning is not really about money at all. It is about peace of mind. It is knowing that if something unexpected happens, the people who depend on you will not have to carry everything on their own.

I believe planning should never feel overwhelming or pushy. It begins with listening, with understanding your goals, and with building something that genuinely fits your life and your priorities. No jargon, no pressure, and no plan you cannot comfortably keep.

In my first few years as an advisor I have been grateful to be recognised by Sun Life as a Grand Slam Awardee, a multiple-time Medallion Awardee, and a Macaulay Awardee. Those milestones matter to me, but only because each one reflects a family who chose to plan with purpose.

I am based in Santa Rosa, Laguna, and I meet clients across Laguna, Cavite, Batangas, Quezon, and Metro Manila, as well as families and OFWs anywhere in the world through video calls. Wherever you are, we can begin the same way: with one unhurried conversation.
